As GP’s and medical practices begin to embrace video technology, the BBC One Show demonstrated the power of the video medium with a heart-warming story about a GP who noticed a nun on the One Show was showing signs of a rare disease and contacted the show.
The producers contacted the nun, the nun contacted the doctor and was able to be treated, all from the GP watching a TV show.
The Guardian recently reported on comments from The Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt has said GP surgeries needed to start offering “e-consultations” if they were to improve care for the most needy groups and talked about the need for webcam appointments.
