Opus Telecoms achieves ISO 14001 Certification
Opus Telecoms is proud to announce that it has achieved the internationally recognised ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Certification. This accreditation, which demonstrates our commitment to environmental management, was presented to our staff on Tuesday 17th November 2015.
ISO 14001 sets out criteria for an Environment Management System (EMS) and requires organisations to have a policy and system in place to manage and control their impact on the environment. Certified organisations are dedicated to continuous improvement of their performance and are assessed annually to ensure progress is being made.
Benefits of Opus Telecoms registration to the ISO 14001 standard include:
– Reduced impact of our operations on the environment
– Better control of environmental risks
– Reduced waste and an increase in efficiency
– Ensured levels of compliance to environmental legislation
Bridget Dale, Financial Controller, who led the implementation of the system said ‘Everyone has worked so hard and we are really proud of all the effort shown towards gaining this accreditation. The award is a confirmation that as a company we are serious about reducing our environmental impact while continuously enhancing our business processes and policies’
This is the second ISO accreditation for Opus Telecoms in two years. In 2014, Opus achieved ISO 9001 certification for the provision of telecommunications equipment, systems and services, including design, engineering, stocking and distribution, installation, commissioning and support.
