The two types of Cyber Essentials certifications for organisations
There are two types of Cyber Essentials certification. Cyber Essentials and the Cyber Essentials Plus, completed once Cyber Essentials has been achieved. The Plus is comprehensive cyber security certification, and fully assessed by our team of accredited assessors.

The Cyber Essentials Plus process
Our consultants work with you to audit your current setup in line with the strict requirements of the control framework. They will then make a set of recommendations on any changes you need to make to meet the control framework requirements across your organisation. Opus can then assist in the completion of these or work alongside your current IT team. Once all requirements are met, an independent external assessor will visit your office to assess your performance and the certification is granted.

Cyber Essentials is a UK government-backed certification that demonstrates your business follows baseline cyber security practices. Opus helps businesses achieve certification to protect against common threats, we also hold the Cyber Essentials Plus certification ourself alongside ISO 27001.
The Cyber Essentials certification demonstrates a businesses commitment to cyber hygiene and demonstrates a high level of compliance. It also reduces your risk of common cyber attacks and is specifically requested by some businesses who might look to work with your business. Opus are Cyber Essentials certified and assist our clients in achieving both the Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certifications.
There are two levels: Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus. Opus can guide you through both certifications. Cyber Essentials is a self-assessed certification whilst Cyber Essentials Plus includes an independent technical audit and is much more extensive. Many of our clients hold the Cyber Essentials Plus certification as well as ISO 27001 as the frameworks are similar.
