What is Compliance as a Service?
Compliance as a service is a managed, ongoing approach to meeting standards and regulations such as ISO 27001, GDPR and DORA. A provider runs your policies, risk register, controls and evidence continuously on one platform, so you are ready for audits and customer questionnaires throughout the year.
Opus builds a compliance programme aligned to your business risk, keeps evidence current and review progress with you regularly, without you needing a full internal compliance function. Opus is itself committed to cyber security and certified to ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
Why is compliance hard to maintain after certification?
Customers, suppliers, regulators and insurers expect businesses to evidence how risk is managed. Tenders, supplier assurance requests and renewals all ask for proof.
Most businesses get compliant for a deadline, then ownership drifts. Policies go out of date, the risk register stops being updated and evidence ends up scattered across inboxes and shared drives. For businesses without a compliance team, that work lands on IT or finance, on top of the day job. The next audit becomes another project.
What does our Compliance as a Service include?
Access specialist expertise without the overhead of building an in-house team freeing your business to focus on its own
priorities while Opus manages the technology behind them.
Less admin across policies, controls and evidence.
Opus runs the programme, so your team spends its time on the controls themselves rather than the paperwork around them.
Visibility of status, risk ownership and progress.
Every risk and action has an owner and a due date, and progress is visible without anyone having to chase it.
Stronger evidence for audits and questionnaires.
Evidence is kept current against each control, so answering an auditor or a customer questionnaire draws on what already exists.
A clearer leadership view of compliance readiness.
The board sees where you stand by framework, what is open and who owns it.
Compliance managed as an ongoing activity.
The programme keeps moving between audits instead of restarting before each one.
Easier to adapt as requirements change.
As your business grows, customer expectations change or new frameworks are introduced, your compliance programme can evolve without having to rebuild the process from scratch.

Which compliance frameworks does Opus support?
Opus supports five frameworks. We help you prepare for and maintain compliance. Certification is awarded independently, after an external audit.
ISO 27001 compliance support
ISO 27001 is the international standard for an information security management system (ISMS). It is commonly required by enterprise customers, public sector tenders and supply chains that need proof of how you protect information.
Opus helps you build the risk assessment, policies, controls and evidence the standard requires, prepares you for the certification audit and keeps you ready for the surveillance audits that follow.
ISO 9001 & 14001 compliance support
ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality management. It shows customers that your processes are defined, measured and improved consistently. Opus helps you document processes, manage corrective actions and keep the evidence auditors ask for up to date.
ISO 14001 is the international standard for environmental management. It gives structure to ESG commitments and answers the environmental questions that now appear in many tenders. Opus helps you record environmental impacts, set objectives and evidence progress against them.
DORA compliance support
The Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) is an EU regulation that has applied since 17 January 2025. It covers financial entities operating in the EU and the ICT providers that support them, so UK firms with EU operations or EU financial services customers may be in scope.
Opus helps you map ICT risk management, incident handling and third-party risk requirements to controls and evidence.
GDPR compliance support
UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 apply to any business that processes personal data. Compliance is demonstrated through records and controls rather than a single certificate. Opus helps you maintain records of processing, data protection policies, supplier checks and the evidence that shows your controls are working.

How does compliance as a service work?
A discovery session to agree scope, frameworks, deadlines and what is already in place.
The compliance platform is set up, existing policies and evidence are brought in and gaps are identified.
Policies, risk register and controls are completed against each framework, with owners assigned.
Evidence is collected and mapped to controls, ready for audit where certification is the goal.
Regular reviews of status, risk and actions, with guidance in between so progress does not stall.
Who needs compliance as a service?
It is best suited but not limited to businesses that:
Have no internal compliance team and need someone to own the programme.
Answer customer assurance requests regularly and want consistent, evidence-backed responses.
Need clear risk and action ownership across IT, operations and the leadership team.
Want to move from projects to managed compliance and stop starting again before every audit.
Are preparing for ISO, DORA or GDPR obligations and need a structured route to get there.
Supply regulated or enterprise customers who expect proof of how risk is managed.
Why choose Opus for compliance as a service?
Opus runs the programme on a specialist compliance platform provided by our partner Adoptech, and aligns it to your wider IT, cyber security and business priorities.
- We hold the certifications we help you work towards. Opus is certified to ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, so we run the same disciplines in our own business.
- One partner across compliance, IT, Microsoft and cyber security. Your compliance evidence describes systems we already understand, including Microsoft 365 data protection.
- Practical guidance, not software on its own. A platform organises the work. Opus makes sure the work gets done.
- Frameworks chosen by business need. We recommend the standards that matter to your customers and sector, not a one-size-fits-all package.

Frequently asked questions about compliance as a service
Compliance as a service is a managed, ongoing approach to meeting standards and regulations such as ISO 27001, GDPR and DORA. A provider runs your policies, risk register, controls and evidence on one platform and reviews progress with you regularly. Opus delivers compliance as a service for ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, DORA and GDPR.
Opus supports ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, DORA and GDPR. We recommend the frameworks that match what your customers, sector and regulators require.
A compliance consultant usually delivers a project, such as a gap analysis or audit preparation, and then steps away. Compliance as a service continues after certification, keeping policies, risks and evidence current so the next audit or customer questionnaire does not become a fresh project.
Opus prepares you for ISO 27001 certification and keeps you ready afterwards. The certificate itself is awarded by an independent, accredited certification body after an external audit. Opus is ISO 27001 certified itself.
No. Compliance as a service is designed for organisations without one. You will still need named owners for risks and actions, usually in IT, operations or finance, but Opus runs the programme.
Cost depends on how many frameworks you need, the size and complexity of your organisation and how much is already in place. A compliance discovery session gives you a scoped proposal.
It can. DORA is an EU regulation that applies to financial entities operating in the EU and to the ICT providers that support them, so UK firms with EU operations or EU financial services customers may be in scope. Take legal advice on your specific position.
No. Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus are a separate Opus service, linked to managed vulnerability management. Many organisations run both.
